Your Cart

Alright, here’s the deal with storing your kits, spawn, or whatever funky gift you snagged from us:

We bust our butts at HQ making sure everything’s fresh—like, actually fresh, not that “sat-in-a-warehouse-for-a-year” kind of fresh. Once it lands on your doorstep, it’s on you to keep it in tip-top shape until you’re ready to play mad scientist or just dig in. No pressure, just don’t leave it baking in your car or something, yeah?

Fresh Spawn: Oyster & Button Mushrooms
What’s in the bag?
Crack open your grow bag and bam: you’ll find fresh spawn, chilling on either grain or sawdust. That’s your magic starter right there.

Storing this stuff when it lands at your door:
Straight up, toss it in the fridge, somewhere between 2–5°C. Don’t procrastinate—use it within a month or it’ll turn into a science experiment you didn’t sign up for.

Heads up about Pink Oyster Spawn: DO NOT shove this in the fridge. It’s a diva—keep it somewhere cool, but not less than 10°C, and honestly, use it within 5 days. No time for dilly-dallying.

Before you start growing:
Let your spawn hang out on the counter and warm up to room temp before you get started. Cold spawn = grumpy mushrooms.

Log Dowels
What’s inside?
Open the bag, and you’ll spot timber dowels that are already inoculated—basically, they’re ready to go.

How to store them:
Yup, fridge again. 2–5°C, use within a month.

Before you start:
Same trick—let them warm up to room temp. Trust me, don’t skip this bit.

Little extra tips:
If you’re not in a rush, these dowels can last 6–8 weeks in the fridge. Sometimes they puff up a tad, so you might need to drill a slightly bigger hole than planned. Maybe test one before you go full lumberjack on your log.
If the dowels aren’t covered in nice white mycelium or start to smell like zombie feet, they’ve gone bad. Bin them.

Ready to Grow Kits
Storing when they arrive:
Pop ’em in the fridge at 2–5°C, and you’ve got a month to use them.

PINK OYSTER KITS—again, NOT fridge-friendly. Keep them somewhere cool (not under 10°C) and crack them open within 5 days. Pink oysters are needy like that.

Fresh Mushrooms
Storage:
Fridge, 2–5°C, and you’re good for up to a week.
